ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hi! I'm Charnée de Souza. I am a Los Angeles-based illustrator and designer born in Harare, Zimbabwe. I have a BFA in Illustration from Pasadena ArtCenter College of Design. I am very passionate about portraiture and incorporating my loved ones and myself into my work through references and symbolism. I work both digitally and analog and have really enjoyed learning and experimenting with mediums in the printmaking studio, ceramic studio, and model shop. I am currently working as an art instructor and share my passion for learning and creating with my first through fifth grade students in their after-school program. When I'm not creating or working, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, traveling, thrifting, staying active, going to coffee shops, and watching true crime shows and podcasts. I am interested in a career in the freelance editorial, advertising, and publishing market, as well as in house with a paper goods or product design company.
